Living in the United States

I have been living here for a year and half. Before that I came here, I was studying in Argentina for almost three years. Even though I was not living in my house, live in the United States has been a huge change. I haven’t figurate yet how different is life here. First at all, the time past so fast that it seems to be another world. In Argentina I used to live in Buenos Aires that it’s like New York and people are really active; however, I used to feel the hours past, here I cannot, and I see my watch and passed 3 hours already. In this country, if I had not learned to make a list for earns during the day I wouldn’t have been able to take advantage of my day. In addition, everybody work, and I am not saying it’s wrong but people do not have time to have social life. It is like a routine, people wake up, go to work until at 5pm, on Thursday they going for a beer, and then they going home. In Connecticut there are not too many things to do as in New York and the winter doesn’t help too much. In any case, I see myself more responsible since I work I am going to school, I have some bills to pay, and the time fly. Even though my life has changed a lot, I don’t mind I think it is a good experience.

One of the things that I hate...

Cook is one of the things that I hate to do it. I don’t know why but I don’t like and I don’t enjoy do it. There are a lot of people that love to cook and at first I though that I didn’t like because I didn’t know how to cook. Then, when I learned something about cuisine I realized that I don’t like. I always try to cook something new and something you don’t eat everyday; however I just realized I don’t like to cook. Since three months ago I have been cooking constantly and people say that I cook well but for me is a punishment. Something funny that most of the time happen is that after I finish cooking I don’t want to eat my own food. I feel full just with the smell. I still cooking and I am trying to improve everyday, I hope some day I will enjoy it

Maria Cristina

Maria Cristina is my younger sister. She is 19 and it is my consent. My older sister and I give her everything she wants. Even though she is only 19, she is a wisdom person. We are totally different but we have a nice relationship. We spend a lot of time together and we talk a lot. She loves to the right things and she is really honest, sometimes she gets in trouble because she always says the true no matter what. She has a stronger temper but sometimes she is really sweet. She always takes care of me and helps me in everything even though I have more responsibilities. You have to spend time with her in order to make her talk if not she is kind of shy. In any case, she is really nice and a good person; I am so glad to have her like sister and friend.

Christmas

I love Christmas time. First at all I like the decoration that you can see all over the places. Even we waste lost of energy L I will lie saying that I don’t like to see the trees with those different colors of lights. Second, I think people become kindness than usual and everybody has a feeling to do good things for others. The environment has love and laughs all around. Even it is really cold I love to go for a short walk. Finally Christmas night is my favorite. Being with your family, help cooking and playing some games make that day a warm and comfortable night. Since three year ago my family has been growing up. We have almost four kids and they are the best part of Christmas. They enjoy a lot during that night, they sing, they dance and they play. Next day, they open the gifts and they show everybody the gifts that Jesus Christ brought to them because they “behave well”

Yellow and Green

Yellow and Green are my favorite colors. I think these colors are bright and transmit a lot of good energy, peaceful and happiness. I like to see this color and some sweaters, t-shirts and bags. Also I like the color to be paint in bedrooms and kitchen. When I have to buy a gift I always try to find something with these colors in. Also, I was reading an article which it said that the green color transmits peaceful; it is good to have some lemon color in the room because it will help you to sleep better and it will keep you in a good mood. On the other hand, the yellow transmits happiness. Besides, a yellow chicken color is good for children because this color help them to be stimulated. They feel an attraction for this color that’s why it is easy for them to remember things that have this color in it. I always try to be I a good mood. May be that’s why I love these colors.

Famous People

I have never met too many famous people as I did this year. First I met Robin Williams when I was at UCCON waiting for a teacher. He was filming a scene for his resent movie. I did not even realized he was there until he finished filming and he come out to greet few people that was there. Then, for four of July my friends and I went to New York City. When we were eating dinner in a restaurant we saw a Spanish singer; it was funny because no one seems to realize he was there or they did not know him. At first we were unsure, then we just decided go there and ask him. It was the person we were thinking, he was really nice we took some picture and he invited to get a desert with him. Later, we went to a concern at Madison Square Garden. At the same time there was a baseball game going on, that’s why there was only one door to get into the concern. When we were there trying to get in showed up probably seven bouncers try to move people so they can get in. There were so many people and they were just pushing everybody that they not realized they have pulled my two friends and I inside. Finally we could see who they were taking care; it was Mark Anthony and Jennifer Lopez. We were extremely excited, both of they were really nice with us. Finally, I was at work when there was a couple asking me for help. I did not realize who the guy was but I knew his wife, then I knew who the guy was. He was Tommy Motola and his wife. They are really nice people, besides I still working with them sometimes.

Frontier

Every day thousands of people arrive to U.S to visit New York, known as the capital of the world as well. Everybody has different reasons but I think everybody agrees that is a beautiful city. I enjoy walking in the street, taking pictures, being around so many people from all over the world and being in a place where the time does not stop. The difference that exists between Stamford, where I live, and New York is huge. When I take the train to New York the change that I can see is big. It seems as if you arrive to a different place. Here around 10pm everything starts to calm down; in New York no one sleeps, everybody is doing something. Besides you can do many things there. You can go to see a movie even if it is midnight, or skate, ride bicycle, visit a museum or do some shopping. Also you can visit many touristic places such as: The Empire State, The Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller building or walk in the train station that is big. You can do all these things and find this world in 45 minutes difference from here. However, I do not think I will able to live there; sometimes it gets really annoying. It feels strange when I get to New York because like I said is another world. May be, it is because every place has something unique.
